Planar Systems Seeks Channel Market Manager

Planar Systems, a dynamic specialty display provider is looking to add a Channel Marketing Manager for its Home Theater Business Unit. The Channel Marketing Manager will understand the home theater market place and customer needs and work closely with the channel, sales force, product line and product marketing managers to define and deliver on propositions and channel requirements. This role will support the HTBU channel partners for Runco, Vidikron and Planar brands by providing existing MarCom tools and resources as well as creating custom pieces for the channel designed to engage the channel as a marketing partner for our brands. The Channel Marketing Manager is also responsible for marketing and communicating to the channel beyond day-to-day sales for all product life cycle phases. The person in this role will work in conjunction with the Marketing Manager, Sales Teams and Product Marketing to deliver on volume, product mix and margin goals.

Internet Strategy Forum Was Excellent

Yesterday I attended the Internet Strategy forum in downtown Portland. The event was well run, the food was great, registration was smooth, and the speakers were all very informative.

After last year’s show, I was happy to see that the theme this year revolved around Web 2.0 and marketing, and it certainly could not have disappointed anyone in attendance.

After Executive Director Steve Gehlen’s opening remarks, Robert Scoble was up, and I think he was a little surprised at the technical savvy of the Portland audience.
