Embedding Youtube Video in Wordpress

January 28th, 2008 by Scott Hendison

Todd Mintz posted a YouTube video a couple of days ago and complained of “embedding issues” so I thought I’d do the same, testing for myself. Todd’s right… Although it showed in Firefox, it wouldn’t work in IE… What a a pain…

Sorry Todd, but here’s the fix - Before embedding the Youtube code in a Wordpress post, go to Users - your profile - and UNcheck the box for “use the visual editor when writing”. It’s stupid, but that all it takes to fix the issue. Sorry - blame Microsoft I guess…

Dunk Like An All-Star And Have An All-Star Dunk Your Dunk

January 25th, 2008 by Todd Mintz

This is a brilliant social media marketing idea…NBA Dunk contestant Rudy Gay is leading up the following promotion: Upload your best slam dunk videos to You Tube and he will select one dunk to perform at the NBA All-Star Game Dunk Contest.

A great way to engage the community to follow the new videos being uploaded to You Tube & participate in their evaluation. There’s a pretty good chance that a certain number of viral videos will emerge from this process and when one of these dunk videos goes viral, Rudy’s promotion is taken along for the viral ride.

Domainer Type-In Traffic Under Attack By Google’s Toolbar 5

January 21st, 2008 by Todd Mintz

Google’s Toolbar 5 has an interesting feature guaranteed to draw the ire of the domaining community.

From the features page:

Address Bar Browse by Name
Browse by Name helps you find a site even when you don’t know its URL. Just type the site name into your browser address bar, and Toolbar will take you there automatically. For instance, try typing “oxford” into the address bar to go directly to the university’s home page at www.ox.ac.uk.

Google Adwords Integration With IGoogle - My Account

January 21st, 2008 by Scott Hendison

The lack of AdSense access from my regular Google Account (IGoogle) page never did make sense to me, but it was something I didn’t use often, so didn’t really care.

Well I’m not sure when it happened, but Google has finally allowed me to combine the two, enabling me to access all my Google services from one place, which I think is a big improvement.

This morning I was able to merge my accounts, and now my Google page looks like this…
