Well yechnically yes, that's likely happening, but I still do categorize things in multiple categories if it's appropriate. The goal is for your users to find it, and if it makes sense, then go ahead.
However, do try to miniimize your own linking to it or referring to it by using just just one URL, and if you're really anal, you could just 301 the extra urls all to just one primary category. I like that rather than skipping an appropriate category.
Especially with the don't sweat it too much part But the 301 reminder is good to know.

Let's say I have a website/blog called Great Stuff. For that site I right a post called More Great Stuff. I put this post in the Great Stuff Beginners and in the Great Stuff Articles categories.
