Anyone know a Google Analytics “expert” they could recommend.

I am currently talking with firms from this list.

Next months SEMpdx meeting is focused on Analytics, and Ian Lurie will be here from Portent Interactive in Seattle. I've heard nothing but good things…

I have found that “knowing” about it and being able to troubleshoot specifics accross different website configurations is another thing altogether.

Anyone can cut and paste the basic code, but when you start getting garbage data, the trobleshootong can be another matter.

I had a client crawling with MIT grads and they couldn't get the self-referrals out of their Google Analytics, as an example. And of course “pride” hindered bringing in a Google Analytics expert/specialist.

This comment is obviously self-serving, but I think Search and Internet Marketing have way too many “jacks and jills of all trades”, and not enough specialists.

Wanted to post an update on my Google Analytics Specialist outreach.

So far the strongest canidate has ben Adam Howitt.

http://www.adamhowitt.com/

Adam has just started on a trial cliient project, so I am making this post based on our conversations to date, but so far he looks very strong. Both in his knowedge of Google Analytics and also in understanding what an AdWords jockey like me needs when it comes to getting metrics wired for small business clients.

Ironically I didn't find Adam through my primary outreach channels. I found him indirectly through this forum thread.

Turns out Adam had been tracking his Google position for the search term Google Analytics Specialists, he became aware of this SEMpdx Forum thread when it knocked him down in position!!

The power of WordPress.
