My client has invested tons of money developing proprietary illustrations for a new Web site. We plan to add copy on the page about copyrights, but is there something techincal that we can do with the images to protect ourselves from unauthorized use?

Well, from a technical point of view, there isn’t really anything useful as far as I know. You can disable right click, that will limit unauthorized use to those very many people who know about screenshots, but some people actually don’t so you can always try that. The thing with images is, anyone can just make a screenshot and that will be it, they have the image, and you might never even find them or even find out someone stole it.
